So you’re at the SFX Weekender this weekend in Prestatyn, and while, looking at your schedule you realise there is literally so much going on, you don’t know where to start? Well handily, we have highlighted below exactly where and when you can see and meet all the Gollancz authors talking and signing over the weekend. See, aren’t we good to you? All you have to do is turn up and enjoy!

Friday
12noon – Sunday Times bestselling Rivers of London author and former Doctor Who scribe Ben Aaronovitch interviews Doctor Who stars Sophie Aldred and Sylvester McCoy in the Main Void. Ben wrote ‘Remembrance of the Daleks’ and ‘Battlefield’ for the 7th Doctor’s seasons.

2pm – Ben Aaronovitch signs at the Forbidden Planet table.

3pm – Bestselling author Joe Abercrombie, author of The First Law trilogy and The Heroes, joins the ‘Elf Preservation’ panel in the Main Void.

4pm – Joe Abercrombie heads straight over to the Forbidden Planet table to sign books.

5pm – Joe Abercrombie and Sarah Pinborough, author of A Matter of Blood and The Chosen Seed, join the ‘Just A Minute’ panel in the Main Void, an SFX take on the popular radio quiz. At the same time that most beloved of comic fantasy writers, Robert Rankin, who surely needs no introduction, joins the Steampunk panel in the Screening Zone.

6pm – Sarah Pinborough signs at the Forbidden Planet table.

Saturday
10am- Legendary SF author Stephen Baxter discusses Sci-Fi Legends with a host of other authors in the Screening Zone while Principles of Angels author Jaine Fenn signs at the Forbidden Planet table.

11am – Ben Aaronovitch joins the line up for the Urban Fantasy discussion panel in the Screening Zone.

12 noon – SF mega star and author of Blue Remembered Earth Alastair Reynolds moderates the Space Opera panel, also featuring Jaine Fenn, in the Screening Zone.

1pm – Alastair Reynolds then will be signing at Forbidden Planet.

2pm – Sarah Pinborough joins the panel discussing if SF and Fantasy has finally conquered the mainstream while Stephen Baxter signs at Forbidden Planet.

4pm – Sam Sykes, author of Tome of the Undergates joins us all the way from the USA for the fantasy panel discussing world building and character in the Main Void while In the Mouth of the Whale author Paul McAuley will be signing at Forbidden Planet.

5pm – Sam Sykes joins the Forbidden Planet signing table.

8pm – Robert Rankin takes his rightful place centre stage to once again host the SFX Awards.

And also joining in the fun will be Gollancz authors Suzanne McLeod, author of the Spellcrackers.com series and Sophia McDougall, author of Romanitas! So now you’ve no excuse for missing any Gollancz author’s appearance; and if worse comes to worst, you’re likely to find all them in the bar at some point! They’ll be joined by Simon, Gillian, Marcus and Jon (me!) from the Gollancz team so we’ll look forward to seeing you in Prestatyn.
