An Update on The Thorn of Emberlain

Gollancz Author: - May 18th, 2016
Scott Lynch

thorn of emberlainWe’re delighted to announce that publication of Scott Lynch’s brilliant new novel The Thorn of Emberlain has moved to September 2016, to coincide with his appearance as a Guest of Honour at Fantasycon-by-the Sea. September is a the perfect moment for Scott to tour the UK and celebrate the publication of his fourth novel in the Gentleman Bastard sequence, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Locke Lamora, thief, con-man, pirate, political deceiver must take on his most challenging role yet as a soldier . . .

A new chapter for Locke and Jean and finally the war that has been brewing in the Kingdom of the Marrows flares up and threatens to capture all in its flames. And all the while Locke must try to deal with the disturbing rumours about his past that have been revealed.

Fighting a war when you don’t know the truth of right and wrong is one thing. Fighting a war when you don’t know the truth of yourself is quite another. Particularly when you’ve never been that good with a sword anyway . . .

We know that it’s a long while until September 2016, but we promise it will be worth the wait.

You can pre-order The Thorn of Emberlain here.

    Hi!

Very excited for this but today my amazon.com pre-order that I had open for a very long time was closed because it was no longer available? So what is the status about a US release?

Cannot wait to read this. And, btw, the cover is so perfect. Jean, on the left, looking menacing. Locke, on the right, looking…awkward.

  5. Matt Halverson says:

Looks like the pre-order link is broken – takes to me a page that says “The ISBN you are searching for cannot be found.”

  6. Martin A says:

Is the release date still September 2016? The book seems to have disappeared from the Orionbooks website.

Still on for September? It has suddenly disappeared from orionbooks.co.uk

Amazon UK just cancelled my Kindle edition preorder & said that “The release of the item in the order below (Thorn of Emberlain) has been cancelled by the publisher”. What is happening?
